The 2009 Honda Formula 4-Stroke Powerboat Championship looks set for an enthralling season, with the World’s largest off-shore powerboat series announcing 5 Grand Prix events with up to forty-boats entering, including new team and driver line-ups.

The season will start in Pwllheli over the weekend of 9th/10th May and end in the Isle of Man during the last weekend of September. Two new venues feature in the 2009 programme, which will comprise 20 races contested over the summer.

“Each of the venues for the 2009 season has proven expertise in hosting major powerboat race events and the required resources and knowledge to help us to deliver our show to a high standard”, said Steve Curtis – Director of the series.

Honda, who now have one of the longest running sponsorship deals in the motorsports industry with the series are looking forward to next year’s celebrations as they reach a mile stone 10th year anniversary as title sponsor with F4SA. It is also in 2009 that the series will host its 100th race day, the date of which will be announced at the start of next year’s season.

The series which has built on its long-term relationships with host cities across the UK is pleased to say that the calendar has been enthusiastically welcomed by its teams as well as Councils across the board. “Each Grand Prix weekend will be planned, developed and marketed to its full potential”, said Alan Goodwin – Commercial Manager at F4SA.
